Hey, you know what's one thing that people neglect to protect, babe? Their peace. So in this episode, we're gonna dive into what it takes and what it looks like to protect your peace. Hey, what's going on, everybody? God bless you. This is Pastor Les, and always with the beautiful, talented, multifaceted. I know big words. Pastor Luz. And this is Talking with Purpose. Talking with Purpose. Welcome back. With that being said, my love, what is today's topic?

SPEAKER_00

How I forgot that fast. Oh, I remember. How to protect your peace.

SPEAKER_03

How to protect your peace. Now, this is a very important topic. That it's something that we neglect to do. And you know what? It's easy to neglect that. We brush off peace because we're so focused on the now that we forget that we need peace in order to be okay. We need a peace of mind.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But I I think it's more than just we neglect to like protect our peace. I think that people have a misunderstanding of what protecting your peace looks like. Right. And so with protecting your peace, that can look like a lot of different ways depending on the situation and what it is. So I would like to we're we're gonna kind of go into that and explain. If you aren't protecting your peace, how can you do that?

SPEAKER_03

Right. So first of all, I want to talk about the word protection. When you think of the word protection, you think of security. You think of safety, you think of safe. So you have to be the security guard for your mind. Oh man, I'm on fire today. You you wouldn't even imagine the congols I had today. You have to be the security guard for your mind. And what does that look like? That looks like the moment a thought comes to your head, no. Not you, not today, not ever. You take away the power from that thought, right? So when I think of protection, I think of safe, a safe place. Your peace has to be behind the doors of a safe place.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But also, with peace, it's not just thoughts. Sometimes it's people.

SPEAKER_03

You know what? And I'ma mix ours because there's people in our lives that we've allowed in because we didn't protect ourselves, right? But then their disruption brings distraction. Their disruption to your life, their drama, their everything that they carry really starts to shift your mind to where you start to feel like you don't have peace anymore.

SPEAKER_01

What would you say are some things that disrupt peace?

SPEAKER_03

We just said two of the big ones. Another thing that I feel disrupts peace is um lack.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, financial strain.

SPEAKER_03

A financial strain will cause your mind to be flooded with thoughts of negativity. We've been there a few times in our lives, so we could really talk about how it really disrupts your mind when financially you're not secure. Again, protection, security.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Who financial security is important if you want to keep peace. So I would add that as another one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So in this day and age, even social media, right? Like, social media disrupts a lot of people. Like, you see something, let's just say you know the person and you see what they be posting, you be like, bro, that ain't even you for real. Right. And some people take it to where they be mad hot, like I'm gonna expose them. Like people be mad extra. You know, you know what I'm saying? Like, and you allow what someone's social media life looks like to affect you, that's wow.

SPEAKER_03

It's funny you bring that up, babe. Because today I seen someone post something. And I was like, like I literally did this. I was like, I'm like, come on, bro. You know, and this is not to talk about anybody, but it's the truth. When you know somebody, it's hard for you to ignore something like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, yep. But with with peace, one thing that we need you guys to understand and that is that peace isn't the absence of problems, right? And we preach about this, right? Like uh you're gonna have problems, you're gonna have issues, right? But didn't you you just talked about this two weeks ago? Yes. Um, so peace isn't doesn't mean you don't have problems, it's being able to not allow the problem to control you, right? The problem or the person, because some of y'all be having people around y'all for no reason, and and you know I'm big on that.

SPEAKER_03

I'll cut you off quick. So, question for you though, babe. Tell our listeners what would be the first step you would take to annihilate that and when I yeah, no, but we have to be coming in strong. We got to. We gotta annihilate these things, man. These things can grow and destroy. What would be the first step you would take to annihilate and destroy that thing that you already see creeping up to just to take away your peace?

SPEAKER_01

So I think that it really depends on the situation, right? So I'll just use people. Because and I use people because I'm very good at this. If I of course we're pastors, right? So we're surrounded by drama, right? Um, but it's one thing to give someone wise counsel, and it's another thing for you to allow their issues to consume you to the point where it's affecting your life, right? And so, um, church members aside, this has nothing nothing to do with church members.

SPEAKER_03

I'm sorry And not because we love you, but because we love you. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Like this has to do with family and with friends, right? Or like people that are closer to you. Um, I'm very big, and if you know me, you know that don't come to me and ask me for advice if you don't want to know what I'm thinking. Because you won't get what I'm thinking. So, with that being said, um, if you're coming to me and I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with your problem, I'm cutting you off. You know what I mean? Because I can't. Like, I refuse to allow your situation to affect me because now I'm in a bad mood, right? And it's affecting my marriage, it's affecting how I treat my kids, like because you keep coming to me, like you telling me what's going on, and I'm getting palpitations, I'm sweating, like, bro. But it's true. Think of how many people come to you with their problems, and a lot of time it's the same thing over and over again. So, with me, let's find a solution.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

If if you ain't, or if I give you a solution and you ain't listening to me, I'm done. I'm done. I have nothing else to say to you.

SPEAKER_03

Well, look at this.

SPEAKER_01

Who's here?

SPEAKER_03

Let's let this play out. This right here.

SPEAKER_01

And let me see if you interrupted our podcast.

SPEAKER_03

So, right now, ladies and gentlemen. The evangelist. The evangelist of Inspired Church has just walked in the building, give it up for Jocelyn Lopez Cartagino. Hallelujah.

SPEAKER_00

And I wish we had another camera smooth in her face.

SPEAKER_03

But anyway, let's finish, right?

SPEAKER_01

So So when it comes to people, um, I'm just big on that. I'm not gonna allow your situations to affect me, right? And so if you get if you start getting to that point to where mentally I see that your issues are affecting me, then I'm gonna cut you off in love, right? Like, you'll see that we ain't texting that much, I ain't checking up on you that much, because realistically, like people think that other people don't have problems. You know, and like one thing that irks me is like for someone to be like, oh, well, I'm going through this and I'm going through that, and you didn't call me and you didn't text me. What you think I'm I'm going through? Like, we pastor in the whole church. You think that my life is without problems? You think that my life is, you know what I'm saying? Like, we cruising? No, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Like, we struggling. And then it's like, have you thought about asking me if I'm okay?

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

I know you need me, but you might not think that I need you. I might need you too, you know? And um, I you know what I believe too, babe? That protecting your peace can be a heart issue. It could be a heart issue. One explanation is first of all, I want to say I learned how to protect my peace by watching her protect hers. Because as you know, I was one that, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. And I learned from my wife how to shut some doors down, how to close some conversations down, and how to push away nicely some people out of our lives. That's why I say it could be a heart issue because when you don't protect your peace, now you're affecting your health.

SPEAKER_01

Right, literally.

SPEAKER_03

Like literally, you're affecting your health. And the Bible touches on that. I'm gonna I'm gonna read you a Bible verse, right? In the book of Colossians, chapter 3, verse 15, it says, Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. Bam! Pause right there. Let allow the peace of Christ, because he is peace, rule in your hearts. You know why? Because we let things that are in our hearts rule us and they're not of God. These thoughts, negative things that come to our hearts, we allow them to rule our hearts. How? Our mind gets cloudy. Yep. We're no longer thinking Christ like we're thinking like us, and that's dangerous. The moment you think like you, you need to back up. And then the rest of the verse, real quick, it says, it says, let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. Then it says, Since as members of one body, you were called to peace. What does that show? Unity.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Right now, my wife and I are one flesh. If I'm out of peace, her job is to say, babe, bring the peace between us. Why? Because we're one body in Christ. The body of Christ needs to be more united in helping each other bring peace to each other. And why I say that? Because sometimes the body of Christ is the problem.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Sometimes the believer is the problem. They're the ones disrupting churches, disrupting people's lives, and and then you see all these churches and people confused within the church, and it's because somebody bring disruption to what once had peace. But then it's also in the fault of the one who knows that that was disruption and did nothing about it.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So now they've allowed that to fester, to grow, to grow like a fungus, and now you are in a funk.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Because the thing, the thing is, is that like I know some people probably listening and they're like, bro, she has no compassion. And it's not that I don't have compassion. It's that there, like, when are you gonna stop?

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

When are you gonna learn? Right? Like, if you're dealing with the same situation over and over again, let's just use money, right? Because we learn our lesson. Right. And that was a hard one. Um, so if you're gonna come to me crying because your mortgage ain't never getting paid or your rent never getting paid, and this and you ain't doing nothing about it, I'm not gonna feel bad.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because you're not doing anything about it.

SPEAKER_03

That goes back to what you said, babe. Solution.

SPEAKER_01

Right. You're in a you're in a consistent circle.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_01

Right? And so we we're here to help you, right? To give you advice and and counsel and give you help come up with wise solutions to get out of whatever it is that you're going through. But if you ain't listening, there's gonna come a point in time where we're like, how many more times you're gonna sit with us?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

How many more times? You're not listening. Why am I going to waste my energy, my time, my peace? Because now I'm more stressed out about your situation than you are.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. And you know what? Because sometimes they just want to hear it's gonna be okay. And they don't fix it to be okay. They receive the instruction, but don't do anything with the manual.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I've been all stressed.

SPEAKER_01

You know what that made me think of? My car. I got a new car and I'm looking at all the buttons, and I'm like, oh, I wonder what this do. Oh, I wonder what this means, right? All I gotta do is look at the manual. It's in the glove compartment. But I'd rather avoid it, ignore it, because I don't know what it does, than take two seconds to be like, oh, let me check out what this button does.

SPEAKER_03

And you know what that does? That messes with curiosity. Because now, because you're curious, you're gonna try to figure it out yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Or touch it.

SPEAKER_03

Having the instruction, having what you were told to do, hey, do this to fix your problem, to bring peace back into your life, or do this to protect yourself from feeling this crazy mayhem that's going on in your life, and you could be able to control your life to have peace again, but you ignore the instruction because you feel somewhere along the line, it's like you start being like, nah, I'm gonna do it like this. Well, then when you do it your way and it doesn't work, that's what makes people continuously start to come back.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, but this, but this, but this. And then the person giving advice is like, but I told you. You know, I told you what it is. Follow this. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

Right. So I spoke about peace with people, right? That's clear setting boundaries. If someone else is affecting your peace, you need to set boundaries. And um just just to add to that, I know that you're gonna feel guilty, you're gonna feel bad, right? But you gotta be real. Yeah, you know, like I will be the one to be like, look, babe, you keep coming to me with the same thing over and over again. I love you and I'm here for you, but I don't want to hear it anymore. Right. Like it comes to the point where you gotta tell them, like, I'm sorry, I already gave you advice, you're not listening, so I don't want to tell you wanna call me fine, but I don't want to talk about money when you call me, right? Um, but when it comes to mental things, right? Thoughts, how would you address thoughts that are affecting your peace?

SPEAKER_03

Immediately with the word of God. Why? Because it helped me. You're talking to somebody who let his mind take so much control that I attempted to unalive myself twice. And the only way that I found the peace I was looking for, the protection to my thoughts and my heart was the word of God. So that's the first thing I'm gonna recommend. I'm not gonna recommend you a book on five steps to find peace. I'm not gonna recommend you a book on how to protect your mind from evil, because those two things are inside the word of God.

SPEAKER_02

That's good.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I found, that's what helped me, and that's what's gonna help a dying generation that's dealing with having to find peace, and then we look for peace in places that there's disruption, and it's temporary. Oh, I want peace, man. I feel lonely. Let me go hook up with this girl. What is that gonna fulfill? Five minutes of pleasure town, and then it's over.

SPEAKER_01

It's the five minutes for me.

SPEAKER_03

It's the five minutes, it's true. Five minutes of you satisfying that empty need to find what you thought would give you peace, and then after five minutes, three minutes later, you're back to that dark hole.

SPEAKER_02

It's true.

SPEAKER_03

So you tell me, guys, you gotta find that in the you find it in the word of God. You come to me asking me, man, I need peace. I'm gonna bring you the word. I'm not gonna, like I said, I'm not gonna recommend you anything else but the word of God because that is what helped me. Now, people say, you know, uh I can't I'm now I'm not saying that there aren't books out there that wouldn't help you. In my recommendation, if a book uses the word of God to bring light to any situation you're going to, that's a book I'll recommend.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But I ain't talking about books, I'm talking about the book. The book to help me and the book that helped a whole bunch of people around the world.

SPEAKER_01

Some things that disrupt your peace when it comes to when it gets to that point where it's mental, there are sometimes things that you can't control. And so we have to learn to trust God with the things that we can't control. Because if it's out of your control, what's the point of you stressing about it? You know what I'm saying? Like, we've really be stressing about things that we have zero control over. And so it's in those moments where when I know I'm doing every single thing right, I know that I'm walking in the will of God. I know that every step I take, I'm like, Holy Spirit, left or right, up or down, right, and life still be life in, then that's where I'm like, well, it is what it is. Because at that point, you're going through something that you have to go through because God is allowing it to go through when you're in his will, uh-huh, right? When you're in the will of God and you're going through something that is he's using to sharpen you up, to mold you, to chip off whatever needs to be chipped off, then you just gotta you just gotta let it rock. But in that, you have to have peace.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_01

Because when you don't have peace, you're showing God, I don't trust you.

SPEAKER_03

When you're in his will and you don't got peace, you're saying, I don't trust you. Yeah, I don't trust that you're the prince of peace. Isn't that one of his names? He is the prince of peace, and you serve God and you're in his will, and there's disruption, that doesn't mean that he ain't there. Will you trust him in that storm? Will you know that he's still with you? Will you believe that he's still there by your side? It's completely up to you. It's a whole decision thing. So that's a good point, babe.

SPEAKER_01

Do you think that there's a difference between protecting your peace and being selfish?

SPEAKER_03

That's a good question. I believe that there is a difference. Um because selfish is different than protection. Right? When you protect, you guard. When you're being selfish, you're keeping.

SPEAKER_00

Write that down. Write that down.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna say that again. We're talking about protecting peace. When you protect something, you guard it. Take care of it. But when you're selfish, you're keeping what you want for you. You don't want to share. That's good.

SPEAKER_01

That's a word.

SPEAKER_03

So that's what the difference is there. That's why we're saying protect your peace. And there is a difference, right? The difference is that you protect the peace because you want to keep it, right? So you protect, oh let me add this on. It just hit me. You protect your peace from being affected from something coming from the outside. Yes. Selfish is you're absorbing everything that's coming from the outside. You're saying, I want this for me. That's the difference.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. I also think that there's a a fine line and and it comes from a hard thing. Right? So for me, and I'm gonna talk about me because that's all I can talk about, when I'm at that point where I'm protecting my peace, I'm still trying to help you. You see what I'm saying? Yeah. And then it gets to the point where I'm like, bro, I'm done. Right? But to me, when you're being selfish, right, you're like, I ain't telling them not having the information, having the the wisdom to be able to help the person with that situation, you're like, I ain't about to do that, bro. That's figure it out.

SPEAKER_03

There you go. See, and that's where selfish is. Yeah. It's a very good point.

SPEAKER_01

You need to write a sermon on things. That was good. And so it's again, there's a fine line, and it and it all comes from a heart. It's all about where your heart is. And we talk about that all the time. Every single thing that you do, it comes from the heart. So, like when you when you really pay attention to how people move, you'll see their heart. Like, literally, you'll see their heart. Like, we're, you know, being pastors now for two years, we just had our two-year anniversary. Woo-ooh. Um, you know, we've we've learned a lot. And you know, the Holy Spirit really has helped us um to see where people's hearts are. And so when I see that your heart is not in the ministry, your heart is not with your pastors, your heart is not with this church, um, then now I'm now I'm on guard. Right now I'm I'm on protection.

SPEAKER_03

Right. There you go. See? Oh, this is good. Now you're on protection. Now you're like, nope. I see it trying to come in, and I'm using my protection to protect myself from disturbing my peace. To protect that from disturbing my peace. But look at this. You want to know what the Isaiah, what what the prophet Isaiah said to God? Look at what he said. Book of Isaiah, chapter 26, verse 3. He's talking to God. He said, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, which means firm. Because they trust you. Look at that. So, what's the key thing in this verse? The trust. If you trust God, then he if you trust God, then he will keep you in peace. Why? Because he is peace.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. That's like think of any fear. Right? And you're getting on an airplane because you trust that the pilot went to school and got his certification.

SPEAKER_03

Except for me. I don't trust no pilots.

SPEAKER_01

And that the airplane is is has all its inspections. You know what I'm saying? Like, we trust those things, but we don't trust God when He's like, I got you. And you're like, but and He's like, I got you. Right? And and God's I got you sometimes isn't at our time, it's at His time. But we don't want to hear that. No, and we've been there done that. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like we we talking because we know. Right, right. Like we we when I tell you, especially me, like I've struggled way more with that than you. Yes. Like trusting God. Yes, she has. Like it's it's it was very, very difficult for me to trust him in my let me be specific. To trust him in finances. There you go, yeah. Because they're about to be like, right, right. I shouldn't have trust God, she preached. Right. No, so it was very difficult for me to trust God in finances, and I would be like really stressing about it, and to the point where I wouldn't sleep, bro. Like I I I slept budget, that's what I slept. Yeah. And so now I see that that brought me nothing, you know, and eventually it worked itself out, right? And all I had to do was wait. That's it. That's all you have to do. So there you have to find peace in the waiting. You looking for another verse?

SPEAKER_03

That's good, man.

SPEAKER_01

So with um with all of this, right? Talking about disrupting peace and everything like that, besides the word of God, what do you think are things that help us to get peace, right? Because the the word of God, it ain't for everybody, right? Let's just say there's somebody watching that they like, bro, I don't care about that. I just watch y'all because y'all funny, right? Because we are. But let's just say, right? What other because there's I feel like there are other things that we can do to help us protect our peace, adding on to the word of God. But let's just say that they don't want to do that. What else can they do? What helps you? What helps me is I know one number one thing.

SPEAKER_03

Kids, my kids.

SPEAKER_00

I wouldn't say that I wouldn't say that's your number one. No, no.

SPEAKER_03

I'm I'm just saying my kids. Because then in that situation, you know what I would do? I would run to what makes me happy. I would run to what gives me joy. So if I find myself lacking in the word of God, or I, or like you said, uh, man, I'm not about the word of God, okay. Then find what makes you happy because what makes you happy is giving you peace.

SPEAKER_01

That's not disruptive.

SPEAKER_03

That's not disruptive, right? So it that's why I said kids. Kids can be disruptive.

SPEAKER_01

Well, like something destructive, uh maybe I guess the word destructive somewhere.

SPEAKER_03

But but something that doesn't bring destruction to your life, doesn't bring anxiety to your life, doesn't bring worry to your life. I mean, because the word of God is specific. In the book of um Philippians chapter 4, verse 6, it says, do not be anxious about anything. But in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. So don't be anxious. Right. What that does, anxiety disrupts your peace. Because you're not thinking correctly. Yes. You know how I know? Because anxiety is what led me to depression and led me to my two unalive attempts.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_03

That's why.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Again, this is so we're talking what we lived. We're not talking that we pick these things and we're like, okay, here. We're talking, we lived this stuff so we can talk about it. So I would go to what makes me happy, then whatever they feel makes them happy in life. Maybe their wife makes them happy, maybe their job makes them happy. Whatever it is, whatever makes you happy, that's actually what's giving you peace. Right? Because what does the Bible say that all good things come from what?

SPEAKER_02

God.

SPEAKER_03

All good things come from God. So even a person that doesn't want God is surrounded by good things, and if you claim that to be a good thing in your life, God is all up in your life. You just don't want his word in your life. And I'm done.

SPEAKER_01

I would say also, um, there's so many things that the world uses that I'm like, that's God, right?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, we do we talked about this. Like nature. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Go for a walk.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Why? God created nature, and there's peace in nature. Yeah. And in that, it right, being surrounded by God's creation, it actually, for me, I love praying and walking. Yeah. Like you know, I won't, I won't take my headphones or anything. I'll just go for a walk, and in that walk, I'm praying. And I feel I feel closer to God. Like I know that for some reason, for some people that might be weird or crazy, but for me, I feel closer to God when I'm in nature, right? And um real quick.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I gotta jump in real quick because you say you feel closer to God when you're in nature, where you're doing something that's his nature, you're taking away all distractions, right? And you're jumping into his atmosphere.

SPEAKER_01

That's good.

SPEAKER_03

That's what you're doing. You're saying, forget all this. I'm not even gonna put on music. I want you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I find you in you because he is nature.

SPEAKER_01

That's good.

SPEAKER_03

Go ahead, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

You're good. So another thing is like being thankful, right? Like you just read the Bible verse and it says to be thankful, right? And so that's something that even people that aren't believers do. They do um, you know, what are you thankful for? And and they do uh what are the affirmations, right? Positive affirmations on things that they're thankful for. And so there's a lot of little things that you can do to kind of bring your peace or help you bring peace. But um, like another thing, I thought you were gonna say music. Because music is your number one. Oh gosh, I think not I know you go to the word, but when you're like super, super stressed out and whatever, you also go to music. Yes, I do. And so we have all of these outlets, out outlets available to us, right? And so you kind of have to just find what works for you because everyone is different. For me, music doesn't work for me depending on what it is. You know what I'm saying? Because if I'm sad or like depressed, like let's be real, and I put worship music on, that makes me worse. For some people, it breaks them out of it. It that does not do that for me, it makes me more sad.

SPEAKER_03

That's crazy. So I have something to you psychologically, psychologically, it does, yeah. That doesn't mean that the worship song is bad at all, but it just doesn't take you out of that rut.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But if you think of for those of you who are musicians or know music, music has they call them down notes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's notes that on purpose they use to make you feel down. Yes, yeah, just like there's notes that make you feel happy, right, right, right. And so for me, worship music makes me feel worse, not better. In times of depression, right, in times of depression, right? Um, so I'll go to more upbeat songs, right? And so you have to know yourself and and kind of what what helps you, you know what I mean? But the first thing that you need to do is is cut, cut off whatever it is that is disrupting that peace. Cut it off.

SPEAKER_03

What happens? I think I know why that happens to you. Worship is intimate in a moment of depression. The last thing you want to be is inside yourself. So subconsciously, your your your spirit knows it's time to get intimate, and you're like, I'm inside my head, I don't want to be here right now. So you push away the feeling of intimacy. But what do we need when we're that low? We need to be uplifted so you go to upbeat music. Why? Because that's the complete contrast of what you're feeling at the moment, right?

SPEAKER_01

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

So that just hit me right now. That was good. That just hit me. I had to share that. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

That's true.

SPEAKER_03

So, guys, I uh this is the end of the I was I was saying you gotta cut it off. Yeah, this is the end of the episode. Because I would have kept going, right? That's why you're saying that. She's saying that because she knows I would have kept going.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_03

So, guys, we've reached the end of the episode, but let's recap a few things. If your peace is being disruptive, my suggestion is go to the word of God. What do you suggest, real quick, babe?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you said the word, right? For me, I go to God. Right, right, because he's the only one that understands. But cut it off. Like for me, I'm cutting it. I was waiting for you to say I'm cutting you off. I don't care if it's a thought, I don't care if it's a person. Bro, you could be my mom, right? I love you, mommy. But like, I'm cutting you off because you you have to cut it from the root.

SPEAKER_03

You have to love yourself enough to protect that peace that you have.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's good.

SPEAKER_03

Right? Love yourself enough, respect yourself enough to protect that peace that you have. You want to keep it, then you gotta protect it. Yes, because there are things out there and people out there that are looking to take it away from you to destroy you.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

So it's up to you.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Protect that peace, man.

SPEAKER_01

Right. You can't control what happens to you, right? But you can control how you let it affect you. So, with that being said, protect your peace.
