Who’s More Spiritual? | Faith, Marriage & Spiritual Growth

Can one person be more spiritual than the other in a relationship? What happens when one spouse feels closer to God than the other? And does spiritual maturity stay the same throughout every season of life?

In this episode of Talking With Purpose, Pastors Les and Luz Quiñones have an honest conversation about spirituality in relationships and why spiritual strength often shifts from person to person depending on the season you’re walking through.

We discuss how God uses different seasons to strengthen both individuals and marriages, why comparison can be harmful, and how couples can support each other when one person is carrying more of the spiritual weight.

In this episode:
✅ Can one spouse be more spiritual than the other?
✅ Why spiritual growth isn’t always equal in every season
✅ The danger of comparing your walk with God to someone else’s
✅ How marriage can thrive when spiritual roles shift
✅ Supporting your spouse during spiritual highs and lows
✅ Growing together instead of competing spiritually

What's good everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Talking with Purpose. Talking with Purpose and we cheated on you for two weeks. We we did them wrong. I mean, even though we told you we weren't going to be faithful. That's bad. That's a bad look for pastors, bro.

SPEAKER_01

And the only reason why this episode is happening is because we got called out.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, we did. On Thursday, we got asked, yo, when's the next episode? I'm like, oh yeah, I forgot. We do have a podcast.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's a lot because right now I'm working evenings. Right. And he's working day shift.

SPEAKER_00

So our schedule is just so to make time for it can get difficult, but we made time for you today. As always, the most electrifying podcast host in history of podcasts is here with you, Pastor Les, but with the beautiful red lipstick, Pastor Les.

SPEAKER_01

Not red lipstick.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, red lipstick. Um, babe, what are we gonna talk about today, my love?

SPEAKER_01

We are talking about who's more spiritual.

SPEAKER_00

Now, analyze yourself. Who's more spiritual? This is gonna be good. Because there's a lot of things that I feel I could say about this, because we went through this, um, we went through this exchange, if you will, for lack of a better word. My wife and I went through this exchange ourselves of who's more spiritual.

SPEAKER_01

So with this, the reason why we want to bring it up is because I feel like um when both when both husband and wife or boyfriend and girlfriend, whatever, right, are believers, you have to be conscious of where your spiritual level is, right? And so why do I say that? Because um, and again, we're gonna talk about kind of how we've gone back and forth, but um, right, for us being in ministry, we both have to be at a certain level, right? Why? Because spiritually, this is not easy, like being in ministry is not easy, y'all. Like, I don't care what nobody says. Starting a church from zero from scratch is not easy. Um, so when people be like, Oh, you wanted to be a pastor, no, I did not. Like, no, I really didn't, right? But we are accepting the calling, right? And so um it's you shouldn't ever be one person shouldn't be carrying the weight of the other, right? And so when that happens, because it does happen, the person that's carrying the weight need to be like, yo, babe, you need to wake up because this heavy, right? And and we see it, we see it very often. And I I guarantee you, we can look at a couple and tell who is carrying the spiritual weight in that relationship.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's an outward expression of an inward struggle. You can see it. You you could literally see, you look at a couple, one is carrying the load, and the other is not on ease, though. I don't think the other one is always on ease. Because you have couples like E, like empty. No, like ease. Oh chill. Because you have couples where one is carrying the load and the other one's like, well, it is what it is. It is what it is. I've seen that. But then you have couples where one is carrying the load and the other one is like, I wish.

SPEAKER_01

I'm struggling.

SPEAKER_00

I wish something can change here because this is crazy. Right. Um, so let's talk a little bit about us and how we went through that struggle. Um, I would say moving out here to Ohio uh was a blessing, right? But also it was crazy because the moment I saw that I moved out here, I could start finally start a company. I tried to start a trucking company. And in trying in trying to start this trucking company, uh it was tough. I put the family in a big debt. Uh, we were trying to keep what I didn't know was that you needed clientele first. That sounds crazy.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I just thought about is how God told us, because when you said moving here was a blessing, before we moved here, God told us that we were gonna regret it.

SPEAKER_00

He he literally said, You're gonna regret it, but it's me. You're gonna regret it, but it's me. And I was like, in my head, shout out to my um pastor before Pastor Cortez, who gave me that word. In my head, when I heard that word, I'm like, how are you sending me somewhere? I'm like, man, I don't know about that.

SPEAKER_01

But we also, not that you doubt, but you're like I didn't doubt.

SPEAKER_00

I just was like, I don't know about it. I'm expressing.

SPEAKER_01

Like, not that you doubt, but you almost are like, what could possibly go wrong?

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_01

Because our family is here.

SPEAKER_00

And then I'm thinking, if you said you're sending us, what could go wrong?

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, fast forward, I saw the opportunity opening company, I did it. Man, it was a failure from the jump. From the moment, you know, we got the truck, everything. From the moment, it was just a failure. Um, it's but what I noticed along the way is that God still provided for us along the way. So I would get like one load a month or no, one load a week, probably close to one load a week or two, if possible. And that was at least enough for me to pay to keep the truck open. But then that closed. So my father got arrested. So he would send me money to keep the truck open, the company open, because he didn't want me to fail. I was the first one out of all of us to start a company or uh to own anything in our uh in our family. So he was he was all game. He's like, nah, bro, I'm not letting you quit. Uh if I got a sign like pop, nah, he would just send it. Anyway, fast forward from that, my father passes away suddenly, right? So now I have a trucking company that didn't work and I closed. Then my father passed away, and then I fell into a deep, deep depression. That depression was so deep that now I was out of work because I didn't have the company. Um, but because my father passed away, I didn't want to do anything. Um, and that's where the spiritual shift happened. That's where the weight started to shift from me to my wife. Now, of course, we didn't notice it at the very beginning. But as time passed, we started realizing something something deeper than what's going on here is happening right now. It's it's deeper than what we're actually experiencing. And I'll let you get take off from there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because the thing is that for and I'm just I'm gonna talk about us because I can't talk about anybody else, right? I don't know what your situation is, how your relationship is, right, in a spiritual sense. But for us, we've always been at a good place. Like I don't think in our marriage, besides when your dad passed away. No, I'm lying. Because when I had when I had Jotti, I was in a bad place. And that was before that.

SPEAKER_00

That was before that. So we switched roles.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So um, let's finish talking about your your situation and then we'll go we'll rewind because Jotty was born before that. Um so but in the majority of our marriage, I would say we're we're we've been pretty good. Um to where this right, this pro this happened twice. Once for me and once for you, that's it, right? In 13 years, I would say that's really good. Um, but it happens slowly, like you really don't notice it until it hits you. And it's at that point where I told God, I I I like to write prayers sometimes. It really depends on what I'm praying for. And the reason why I do that is as a reminder of like what I asked for or what I was struggling with at that time, and so I was writing my prayers down and I told God, I said, This is not the man that I married. That's what I told God. Like, that's how bad of not that he was bad at all, but from a spiritual sense, I was like, bro, I'm alone, like I'm carrying this completely by myself. Like the man is supposed to be the head of the household, and now I'm the head of the household spiritually because he's in his own little world, right? And me trying to be supportive, right? Because he lost his dad. I don't know what it is to lose a parent. I'm like, okay, I'm gonna let him get that. I don't know, I'm gonna I'm gonna handle it as long as I can, right? Because I don't know what it is to grieve a parent, right? So I try to give you like that time.

SPEAKER_00

And and in doing so, uh so my mentality in this in this process in the in this process was I'm stuck. I I know what I need to do, but I can't care less to do it. Uh it wasn't selfish, it was more of how how do I get back up now? You know, I was so low, so down, so hard. Um, and when something like that happens, uh, even though I have an older sister, I'm the next oldest man in the household. So I felt a pressure also to watch out for my family back at home the best way I could. So it was a lot going on. But what I want to stress today is that the spiritual shift happened because I neglected my role. I didn't know that that's what I was doing though. I thought that, because it's my first time losing someone very close to me, so I thought that this was just part of the process, that you're you're supposed to feel the way you're feeling, and eventually that gets better, which is true, but I neglected the most important thing. I was like, yo, I still got a family to take care of. I still need to lead this family spiritually, but spiritually, I was out. I was out. So out that my vocabulary started changing again. I started talking like uh I wasn't saved. I started acting like I wasn't saved. Um and now that I think back, babe, I think that all of that came from trying to cover my feelings that I just was like, uh I don't I don't know. Anyway, so when we noticed, let's go to when we noticed. We noticed this two years in.

SPEAKER_01

Oh minute. No, no, a year and a half. It's not that I didn't notice because I didn't like I kept telling God, like, I don't know when. Yeah, like when is a good time for me to bring this up to him to where I don't I don't come off like arrogant or selfish, right? And it just got to the point where I we literally we were sitting in the room, you were sitting on the edge of the bed, and I I lit this is what I said. I said, I can't take it anymore. I I can't, and then we got into everything, and then he started that's when you start like you didn't realize until I said it, and you were like, Wow, like then that's when you started to realize, but I realized it when it happened.

SPEAKER_00

So in that yes, I bet she did. If y'all really knew her, you would know she was holding that for a while. That's true, um, but I want to go back to that convo. I remember, bro. We're sitting on the bed talking, and she said it, and the Holy Spirit just bam, right? And he told me, he said, the Holy Spirit told me she's carrying a weight that doesn't belong to her. And I'm like, whoa, because one thing I did notice while this was going on, because of her restraint from trying to know when it's the right time to tell me that she couldn't take the weight, she started losing some of herself. Because she's taken on spiritually and financially, babe, because I was not working, right? I was not I was not working.

SPEAKER_01

I don't want to blow your spot, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, let's be real. This talking with purpose is with a purpose.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I became I and I told you this too when we were talking. I said, I feel like I'm a single parent.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Like you're living here, but I feel like I'm a single parent.

SPEAKER_00

It was like I was the oldest child of a previous marriage where the father passed away and she had to take care of this big old lazy man. That's kind of what it was like, but that's looking at it now, right? So um the the role shift. And when it hit me, bro, it hit me so hard, I said, whoa, it was it was a wake-up call. It was like, see, this is what's going on. So a little bit back, when I was going through this, she was losing a little bit of herself, her motivation. Because she was taking care of a whole household by herself with only her paycheck that was coming in, because me, her husband was too depressed, because he went through too much, and he just couldn't bear. Man, I look back now and I'm like, man, if I could go back and be who I am today, I would have handled this completely different. But that's when our roles shift. I noticed something. Roles shift when someone goes through something in the marriage, right? Like we're talking. Me, it was I was down and out. You couldn't tell me to go get a job if it paid me $60 an hour. I wouldn't move. I wouldn't care. And matter of fact, to this day, you could tell me, bro, this place is paying $50 an hour, man. You know, you work weekends. No, I have stipulations, and I don't care how much you pay me. You're not taking away my weekends. That's mine.

SPEAKER_01

That's bad, Randall.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know, I know. That that I squirreled it up. You'll get when you guys realize how I really am, you'll see. But um, let's talk about your rut.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I wanna I wanna say something about like our situation with you. Um, what men need to understand is the importance of their covering spiritual.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, yes. And so we skip that.

SPEAKER_01

You know, like we're gonna we're talking about both because it happened to both of us, but you're gonna see that it affected me, right? Your decline, your spiritual decline affected me way more than it affected you.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it was because when one of them is on a spiritual decline, the other one is picking it up on an incline.

SPEAKER_01

But what I'm saying is when I was down, you were able to carry that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes, because that's my role.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we got that's what I'm saying. Let's talk about yours now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So for me, um, right, so I got pregnant with Bingy. That's not her name, but that's what we call her. Um, Jareli. And um I got pregnant with her right before COVID hit, y'all. I was working two jobs. I've always worked two jobs. I don't know why I enjoy working, clearly.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I was I was very busy prior to COVID. Just wanted to throw that in there so the world knows. Oh my Kiona's household prior to COVID.

SPEAKER_01

So Bingy is a COVID baby, right? So what happened? Um, I was working overnight on top of working a day job, and then I got pregnant. So I was still working both jobs while out during the pregnancy. And so I was I was pretty much good. My whole pregnancy was great. Like, and I worked at the hospital on the COVID unit during my pregnancy. I work in cardiology, so basically, I was just watching the patients' heart monitors. I watched a lot of them die. But that's the job.

SPEAKER_00

Oh gosh, I remember them stories.

SPEAKER_01

And so during that time, because I was pregnant and they didn't know like what would happen if a pregnant woman caught COVID and whatever, they kind of kept me like in literally a little corner, like all night, just watching monitors. So, fast forward, um, right? Bingie was early, she was five weeks early, which by by 30 weeks I was already having contractions. We went through this with Mima too, also not her name. Sorry is her name. Um, and so um after I had Bingy, I I thought that I was good. Like, I was good. I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight, like things was good. We were going for walks because she was in she was born in June, she's about to be six. You know, we went for walks every day, like I'm good, and then we moved here. I'm telling you, for both of us, it was the shift of moving here. Like, moving here was when we had those two big spiritual declines. But mine was first, mine happened in 2021, right? So, what happened? We moved here, it was right after COVID. We moved here, we had family clearly, right? But we were in the process of selling our house in Jersey, and we needed that money to buy our house over here in Ohio, so that was stressful, right? And then we were all living with my grandma, God bless her soul, um, six people in my grandma's little three-bedroom uh ranch. Um, so that was stressful.

SPEAKER_00

Picture that size, three-bedroom ranch, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's not it's not huge. Um, right, and so that's when it started to hit me, right? Then I started gaining weight. So I I got postpartum depression, basically, right? And so it was like little by little, I just kept going deeper and deeper and deeper. And then they diagnosed me with papillary thyroid cancer in April. So we moved here in November, then that following April, they diagnosed me with the papillary thyroid cancer. And then again, right, it was just it I felt like that whole year was just down for me. And they removed my thyroid or half of it in June. I think it was in June.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, June. Um June of 2021.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they got to it fast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they were quick with it. Um, June of 2021. So I didn't need chemo, I didn't need none of that. They just took it out and I'm on medication right now.

SPEAKER_00

And that's the glory of God.

SPEAKER_01

But um, you know, that's where it started. It started with postpartum depression, and then it just it just kept going, right? And so how did that affect us? Not only spiritually, it affected our marriage. Like, Les used to be like, bro, what's wrong? Like, you ain't normal. Like, what's wrong with you? There's there gotta be something wrong with you, he would tell me, to the point where I started looking for uh therapy. Like, I'm looking for um psychologists, and I'm like, bro, there has to be something wrong with me, right? Because I just I definitely wasn't myself, like that wasn't me at all. But again, oh, another thing is we didn't have a church, like we were we were back and forth between churches, um, because right, when we moved here, um there's so many churches, right? Like, there's churches everywhere, but everywhere we went, it didn't feel home. And I think that it that God did that on purpose because he's like, I didn't send y'all there to be warming up seats, I sent y'all to work. And so, regardless of what church we were in, we didn't feel home. It didn't feel like that's where we needed to be. And if you are a person of ministry, you will understand when we say that it's not in our nature to just sit. Right. Right? Like it's not, it's just not in us, right? And so that was another big thing that affected us, and that happened in both, because I had my thyroid what year papa died? 22. So I had all my situation happened in 21. Yours happened at the end of 21, going into 22.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, true.

SPEAKER_01

Well, after 22, so the end of 22 for both, right? Because you started the trucking company before Papa died.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So that that in August, I remember it was right when the kids went to school. August 2021, you started the trucking, and then Papa died twenty two. So the end of twenty one, we were still pretty we were good. We were okay. We weren't great, but we were okay. Then the beginning of twenty two, it started. It started getting getting heavy. Right, yeah. And then it just escalated from there. So I went from being depressed and being low myself to now having to shift forcefully. Forcefully, yeah. To be able to carry your weight because you were down.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Wow. See what happens when you talk about it again. It's like, oh snap. And those are very dangerous areas to be. Right? If you find yourself carrying the weight of your marriage, being a woman. Be a lot like Pastor Lewis. I'm gonna tell you why. My wife, she didn't say anything. I'm not saying don't say nothing, but she waited for the right time, the right moment. She was still under the inspiration. I'm sorry. She was still under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And she knew when the right time would be to bring up this conversation, but in the meantime, she knew she had to hold it down. Okay? If you're a man and you're in Pastor Lucy's position, do the same thing. No, yo, my wife is going through it right now. What we need to understand is that you gotta be that support for the other half. You can't just be, man, you gotta figure something out. Man, I know a lot of people that talk to their spouse like that. Let's be real. You gotta figure something out because this is crazy as a whoa, hold, hold on. Don't forget that the man or the woman that you're talking to that you claim you love got feelings, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Stop playing. Learn to respect your spouse and know when the right time is to talk to them when they're in that rut. Because that shift is crazy. She went from being under the leadership of the household in her depression to mine's happening so sudden that she was still in hers and then carried my weight on top of that. Woo. Nah. If you know that your spouse is going through something, learn, man. So the the the question of the episode is what? What's the name of it again? Who's more spiritual? I got an answer for that. It doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I'm gonna tell you why. It doesn't matter who's more spiritual. Because either way, you gotta be there for each other. So it don't matter. So who is more spiritual in your marriage? Because then then they're not. Then there's couples, right? That we we speak, we we speak with people. Then there's couples where they say, Man, she don't like to pray. Or he don't like to pray. He don't like to read the word. I feel like I'm with somebody that don't because in the beginning of our marriage.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

I would I would turn to her and be like, yo, do you pray?

SPEAKER_01

He was so religious.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was I was crazy.

SPEAKER_01

He'll be like, because I don't see you pray. And I'm like, why I gotta show you that I'm praying.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, I don't see you praying on your knees. Like, yo, do you got a prayer life? Do you read the word? I remember like like feeling like, yo, who did I marry here, bro? This is crazy, right? But and that that goes to show too that I had a lot of growing up to do. My mentality on how this whole thing was was completely different than it is now. And I thank God for that. And I thank my wife for that too, who, without knowing, she just like guided me, like, bro, stop playing, man. But um did this shift is who who cares who's more spiritually strong? Your job as the husband and your job as the wife is to just hold it down. You know, we're gonna have our bad situations. Okay. A new one that happened to me was my mother passing away four months ago.

SPEAKER_01

But this time, completely different.

SPEAKER_00

It was nothing like when my father passed away.

SPEAKER_01

You preached that Sunday.

SPEAKER_00

My mom died on a Thursday, and I gave a sermon on Sunday. You see what I'm saying? There's why? There was growth. There was more. I I already experienced what it was to shut everything down and let depression and everything overwhelm me to the point that I shut down. This time around, I said, nope, I gotta get up, I gotta keep going, I got kids, I got a wife, I got a responsibility. So I cannot let the shift happen again. I can't let the weight carry on to someone who I know is not supposed to carry it because let me tell you something. The man is the one who carries the weight of the household. Spiritually, financially, even though openly speaking, my wife makes way more than I do. Way more than I do. But that's not important. That's not important. If you do it the way we do it, it's not important. There's people who, men who are like, nah, bro, I don't like that. She makes more than me. It's like, bro, calm down. Your bill's getting paid, bro.

SPEAKER_01

My money is your book.

SPEAKER_00

Right. If you that's why I said if you do it the way we do it, that's how we are. That's how we are. Everybody does it different. But um, man, this time around, I was able to say no. I remember telling myself, no, it happened. This hurts. I still scream and cry like a baby to this day, but there are moments.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And I don't let I don't drown in those moments. Instead, those moments help me push forward because then I'm reminded through the Holy Spirit, your wife needs you, your daughters need you, right? So this time around it was different. But the first time, with it being so back to back, there was a shift in roles in the household. And that really did cause our marriage to um buckle. Like, you know, a little bit of the foundation was buckling. Because like I said, I changed a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it's almost like for me, it's almost like, how much longer can I can I take this? Like, how much longer can I handle him being this way? How much longer can I handle, you know, being the spiritual, spiritual one, right? But I also want to add with who's more spiritual, there's a difference between having a a season and not caring. Right? And so in that case, it does matter who's more spiritual.

SPEAKER_00

In that case, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Because if you if you think that having a a relationship with God and with Christ is coming to church and even serving in church, because you got you got people that serve, they they they they bring the pastor water, they bring the pastor whatever, and they ain't saved. Right? And so there's there's there has to come a time where you care, where you care that your husband or your wife is the one that's truly looking for Christ, looking for God, and you're just there. Oh, I I go because my husband goes, or whatever. You know what I'm saying? And so in that case, it does matter. In that case, yes, you know, but when it comes to a season, that's life.

SPEAKER_00

That's life. There you go. That was my point. Thank you for fixing it. That was my point. There's seasons that this happens. That's when it shouldn't matter. Bro, I got you. You know, I babe, I got you. Don't worry, because I know a season's coming where it's her turn.

SPEAKER_01

And ours was back to back.

SPEAKER_00

Right? And then it's my turn, her turn. But now we know that through going through it, right? You get what I'm saying? So now we know that through going through it, it's like, okay, how and then it then it comes to this too. How much does this marriage really matter?

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

To really know that this is really going downhill and it's up to me. Or it's up to me, speaking the woman's side. It's up to her to really start to grab this and say, okay, I'm gonna give them some time, but I'm gonna be supportive at the same time. And because now, if it happens, she ain't gonna be quiet. This time she's gonna be like, all right, babe.

SPEAKER_01

Remember what happened last time.

SPEAKER_00

It's oh yeah, right. Like, remember what happened last time. Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And you know what the thing, the something that I want to highlight is that it only happened once.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

It happened once with me and once with him. And I feel like it shouldn't be a yearly thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, it's January, so I'm gonna go downhill. Like that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

And think about this, babe. Think about this, guys. Look, if anything, in January, I had all the excuse to fall back into how I was in 2022 June when my father passed, because I lost my mother suddenly, too. But again, experience teaches, right? Learn from it, you learn from it, and I learned no, there's no way you're gonna see that 2022 less this time. And it had let me just clarify that it got nothing to do with the fact that we're pastoring now, nothing, right? Because we're real and transparent with even our members, and they know, and they know our members know we be real, so it don't got nothing to do with being a pastor. No, but it had everything to do with knowing where my mind could have gone and stopping it because I already had the experience, right? And and then another thing, care about your spouse, bro. Right, care enough to be like, nah, you're not going through that by yourself, right? Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. And it has to go both ways, like as the wife, and I and I can only talk about the dynamic in our relationship. Um, I have to push you. Yeah. Because if I don't push you, knowing you, right, you know me. You can go into cruise control and you chill, right? And I'm like, no, no, no, like let's go. Right? So I have to be that for you. And there are men that need that. Yeah. Like, so don't be the wife, the the don't be the yes wife all the time, right? Yeah, bro, true, true. Because I give him his respect, right? But when I really know, like, all right, this he's doing something wrong or it's gonna affect him and he don't realize it right, then it's like, bae, think about it like this, blah, blah, blah, blah, right? And we talk about it. But, you know, as a woman, like the Bible says that when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, and I have a great thing. You know, so like I think that scripture's off because of you.

SPEAKER_01

It has to say great.

SPEAKER_00

Because you're great.

SPEAKER_01

So, you know, as women, we should strive to be that for our husbands, right? Like, I never want less to go somewhere and be like, like, and we we talk about this all the time. Now, this is going left field. When women come to me and they're complaining about their spouse, and I'm like, blink blink. I don't know. What I don't, I don't, I can't, I don't know how you feel because my husband's not like that. Not saying that I haven't been in relationships like that, right? Right, right. But when it comes to my husband, I I don't know. And and you say the same thing, yeah, right? Like people come to you or men come to you talking about their minds.

SPEAKER_00

My wife, my wife, and I'm like, wow, I don't know how you feel, you know. And then you know what?

SPEAKER_02

You're like, I'm so sorry for you.

SPEAKER_00

I thought that, I thought that in you know, coaching people now and stuff, that that would be a hard thing to try to navigate because I didn't experience what they're experiencing. But in the long run, I've realized I'm like, no, this is a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

It's a good thing because I could tell them, okay, well, then look, maybe you should tell your wife to do try this. And try because why? Because she does it and it satisfies and makes me happy.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Because you're not gonna take advice from somebody who isn't where you want to be.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, you can't.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? Like right. That's like taking financial advice from a homeless person. Sorry, but I'm just saying. Right? Right. Like they're out in the street, clearly they don't know how to manage money well.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I mean? Like, yes. So that's pretty much all I got.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, that's uh that's all we have for this week, man.

SPEAKER_01

We be freestyling it if y'all haven't noticed. Yeah. So that's why we be we go back and forth.

SPEAKER_00

Uh that that's all we have for this week. Uh, but want to mention something. In June 6th will be our two-year anniversary service and ministry. Praise the Lord, man. It's been great. It's been great and very tough in the beginning. But right now, I feel like we're on a coast where God is just, it they told us you're about to reap the harvest now, and we're in harvest season.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

It is evident all over this ministry that we right now are in harvest season. We know soul and season has to come back. Right. Because that's the way, that's the nature. That's a yearly thing. That's the nature thing. But right now we're in harvest season and we're just so happy. Two-year um service coming up, June 6th. We got my boy, Pastor Angel Castro, coming from New Jersey, bringing the word. Uh, I grew up with him in church, so for me, it was very important that he be the guy for something like this.

SPEAKER_01

You wanted him for our first service.

SPEAKER_00

I wanted him for year one, but we couldn't do it, of course. And now I was like, okay, uh, she did it as a surprise for me. It was cool, it was very nice, and uh, so we're excited about that service. So if you guys are in the area of Illyria, Ohio, or you know Angel is fired, because you should know by now, and you're interested, yo, come out, join us. I'll put the flyer at the end of this video so you'll be able to see um the information on it. We got that. Also, we do coaching. We don't want to skip that. If you find yourself in a rut, you find yourself needing some coaching in life, hit us up. Men can hit me up, women can hit up my wife, Pastor Luce, and we'll be there. You know, we set something up and we'll be able to help you out.

SPEAKER_01

Marriage counseling.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, marriage counseling, yes. That is it?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, that's what we're here for. Um, we are also taking pod recommendations. If there's anything y'all want us to touch on, comment.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and you know what? Make it fun.

SPEAKER_01

It don't gotta be church real.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, make it fun. But I'm gonna still throw some Jesus in there. But make it fun. Make it fun. Throw something in there that's crazy. Um we're ready. We're ready, we're ready to do something different and crazy. So let us know how you guys feel. Um, please comment, share, and subscribe. We're trying to grow this channel. Oh my god, wait, this just hit me. How could the channel grow if we're not consistent with posting? Man, you know what? God is gonna give the increase anyway.

SPEAKER_01

He's gonna not about the quantity about the quality.

SPEAKER_00

It's about the quality, and the quality of what we're bringing is good enough for this to just do what it does. So, again, thank you guys so much for joining us with this episode. We love you all. God bless you, and remember, I am the most electrifying podcast host that they'll ever be. I don't think there'll ever be anybody that would be as captivating, as inspirational, and as electrifying as Pastor Les of Inspired Church. As a podcast host. My wife, you know, she's the w I I use her here for beauty.

SPEAKER_01

Get out of here.

SPEAKER_00

Because y'all need something great to look at. That's what she's there. But me, you're here for the electricity.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, gosh.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm kidding. God bless everybody and thank you so much. We appreciate you.
